From DotA Allstars Wiki
Teleportation in DotA manifests in an instant shift of position from point A to B, usually after channeling a spell for a nominal moment. There are many ways to teleport in the game.
Normal Teleportation
A normal teleportation means to teleport to a target unit or structure (typically allied ones), with mapwide casting range. It usually disables the caster and the target for a certain amount of time before the teleportation is done.
There are typically two ways of normal teleportation:
- The Boots of Travel is a utility item that allows a hero to teleport to allied units and buildings every 60 seconds. It is rather expensive, but is definitely worth its weight in gold if you intend to lane-hop a lot to farm, push and defend.
- The Scroll of Town Portal is a cheap, 1-charge consumable that teleports you to any allied building in the game. It has a cooldown of 65 seconds, as opposed to the 60 of Boots of Travel.
When a creep is chosen as the teleportation target, it remains idle even after the teleportation is done.
Other kinds of Teleportation
- Prophet's Teleportation, which teleports you to any explored point on the map which your allies are in the vicinity of. It has a very short cooldown when maxed out, and is hands down the best mobility spell in the game.
- Pit Lord's Dark Rift ultimate is identical to the Boots of Travel functionality except it teleports every allied hero in it's radius as well, and has a much longer cooldown.
- Spectre's Reality can allow her to teleport to any enemy hero on the map after using Haunt.
- Geomancer's Poof! allows him or any one of his clones to teleport to any other clone or Meepo.
- Spirit Bear's Return allows the Spirit bear to teleport to his summoner, the Lone Druid.
- Holy Knight's Test of Faith allows him to teleport an ally or converted creep back to the fountain. Allied heroes that have the -disablehelp game command activated cannot be teleported by Test of Faith.
- Morphling's Replicate, which allows him to instantly teleport to his summoned image, killing his image in the process.
- Keeper of the Light's Recall, which teleports the target allied hero to Keeper of the Light.
- Admiral Proudmoore's X Marks The Spot, which teleports the target hero to the X spot.
Blink
Short-ranged teleportation, namely Blinks, are usually referred to as different from Teleportation. See Blink for more information.
