Overview
Chain Lightning is an active skill that when used, summons a bolt of lightning that bounces around enemies, dealing damage.
Notes on Chain Lightning
- This was a skill of Ladder's Far Seer.
- Chain Lightning jumps to the closest nearby enemy on each bounce. If there are no enemy units in a certain area, Chain Lightning stops jumping.
- There is a 0.25 second delay between when the Chain Lightning hits the unit, and when the unit actually takes damage.
- As long as a Chain Lightning from a skill or item is still bouncing, that skill or item cannot cast another Chain Lightning. This is most noticeable with Zeus' Arc Lightning.
- Because there is no actual projectile to Chain Lightning, it cannot be dodged by Blink or Wind Walk once the animation plays.
- In the case of Razor and Medusa's Chain Lightning, there is a 15% damage reduction for each consecutive bounce, so the first unit takes 100% damage, the second takes 85%, the third takes 72.2%, etc. Prophet's Wrath of Nature has a -7% damage reduction for each bounce, meaning the damage actually increases by 7% for each unit. All other forms of Chain Lightning have no damage reduction.
- Some Ultimates use a version of Chain Lightning with no bounces but very high damage as a single target nuke that cannot be dodged, like Lina's and Lion's ultimates.
